KPI Buys Up to 210,000 Tons of Diesel for Italy on Refinery Halt

Kuwait Petroleum International Ltd., a unit of Kuwait Petroleum Corp., will buy as much as 210,000 metric tons of ultra-low-sulfur diesel for May and June in Europe, according to a company official.  KPI, as the company is known, awarded a tender on April 16 which gave it the option to purchase four to seven cargoes of the fuel amid planned maintenance at its Milazzo refinery on the Italian island of Sicily in May, the official, who declined to be identified citing company policy, said today in an e-mailed response to questions. The official didn’t disclose the seller or award price.
